Amelia Board of Supervisors
The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the county. The five member board is elected for four-year terms. Board members are elected from five single member districts and they serve staggered terms. Elections are held as a part of the 维吉尼亚州 general election in November of odd numbered years. Amelia Commissioner of Revenue
The Commissioner of the Revenue is responsible for assessing the real estate tax, tangible personal property tax, business tangible personal property tax, 机械工具税, 营业执照税, 短期租金税, 暂住税, and public service corporation tax. The Commissioner also issues county business licenses, processes and prepares state income taxes and administers the real estate tax relief for the elderly/disabled and veteran programs as well as the Land Use program. The Commonwealth's Attorney represents the people of 维吉尼亚州 in prosecuting criminal cases. The position is similar to that of the "District Attorney" in many other states.
